General Location Information
The Canaletto Hotel’s location in the Castello district of San
Marco affords guests the best of both worlds - being within easy walking
distance to all the famous places and sights visitors are sure to wish
to visit in Venice, but also provides a quiet, relaxing atmosphere in
view of it’s position, being situated in a slightly more
secluded spot than some of the hotels closer to St Marks Square.
St Marks Square is the focal point and hub of St Marks, where many of
the main tourist attractions such as the famous Basilica, museums, shops
and restaurants can be found in and around, not to mention the actual
Square itself which is a natural and popular rendezvous for people. The
Square is approximately 10 minutes walk from the Hotel Canaletto.
In equal measure, Venice’ famous Ponte di Rialto
is also just a short distance from Hotel Canaletto. The Rialto Bridge
spans the Grand Canal and is certainly one of Venice’ most famous
and sought out sights for visitors. Canaletto himself is famed not least
for his stunning 18th century masterpiece oil-paintings of Ponte di Rialto.
Visitors can also board and disembark the water-based Vaporetto public
transport system here as well as arrange transport to and from the airport
and also Santa Lucia railway station.
